POSITION TITLE : GENERAL SUPERVISOR CONTRACT (“GSC”)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :

  • Develop, implement and enforce contracting policy, procedures and systems, and monitor the adherence of these procedures within Client and its contractors.
  • Ensure successful procurement of services and certain major goods through effective contract agreements in terms of costs, quality, quantity, warranty and availability.
  • Train and develop personnel to form an effective team and monitor individual staff development plans in line with Client succession planning.
  • Develop contract plans and strategies based on user department requirements and local community needs and capabilities and provide regular progress status reports of contracted services activities.
  • Manage contract agreement and contractor administrative matters relating to Government regulatory compliance and interaction, claims, disputes, invoicing/payments, correspondence, review meetings, backcharges, taxes, insurance, liability, indemnities, bonds and retentions.
  • Develop and maintain standard contract documents and train staff to prepare formal contract documentation customized to suit specific contract requirements of Client’s operational and construction activities.
  • Ensure timely and professional service to user departments in the preparation and evaluation of bids, negotiation with bidders, recommendation to management for approvals, preparation of contract documentation, issuance of award of contracts and regret letters, general commercial administration and overall contract management and close out of contracts.

  • Review and approve requests for services.

WORKING CONDITIONS/REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:

The employee is required to reside and work at a remote mine site in a sparsely populated region of Indonesia.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:Justify Full

Demonstrated strong understanding of local businesses and personnel, customs, politics and governance to provide appropriate interaction and a bridge between the requirements of an international corporation and a developing local community:

· Degree in business, law, engineering or equivalent.

· Minimum 10 years experience in contract management with a minimum 2 of those years working in the mining industry.

· Sound understanding of relevant Indonesian business, legal system, company law, immigration, manpower, tax, importation, mines and energy regulations.

· Well developed computer skills to be able to implement and maintain effective processes and procedures.

· Strong analytical capabilities and negotiating skills, sound business sense, advanced english language documentation skills with high attention to detail.

· Working knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia.

Desirable skills, knowledge, training and experience:

· Experienced MIMS/Ellipse user.
